Day 12 - Cliffs of Moher

Image
On our second day in Dublin, we awoke before the crack of dawn and headed to McDonald's for a quick breakfast before meeting our tour bus. We drove out to King John's castle in Limerick where we hopped out and took a few pictures. The weather was awful - cold and rainy - but that didn't deter our sightseeing adventures. We continued on to the Cliffs of Moher where we were allowed to wander around, grab lunch, and take some pictures for about an hour and 45 minutes. We bought an umbrella to help with the photos, but they didn't turn out all that great: On our drive home, we stopped at the Burren, an amazing formation of limestone rocks. There are large "boulders" all over the Burren that are leftover from glaciers moving over the land and depositing them.  We also stopped quickly at the ruins of St. Mary's of the Fertile Rock: Finally, we returned to Dublin, and with a light mist still fal

Day 11 - Dublin, Ireland

We woke up on January 27th, took a cab to Central Station and hopped on a train bound for Dublin. We bought the tickets at 10:29 and the train took off at 10:35...talk about cutting it close! Once we arrived, we grabbed another cab and went to Jury's Inn where we had a reservation. After dropping off our bags, we walked to the local tourist center and bought tickets for a local bus route that we could hop on and off at our leisure, signed up for a Cliffs of Moher tour, and set up our plans for the evening. Then we walked through a market/shopping district (Jerris Street) and headed to find some lunch. The Spire celebrating the year 2000...kind of silly looking:) We ended up in the Temple Bar district right on the River Liffey.  We ate a delicious lunch at the Merchant's Arch and got to hear some live music: Then we wandered around the city and jumped on the bus to see some sites! We drove passed St. Patrick's Cathedral, the Guinness

First of all, I promise to eventually get back to the trip postings, but this one NEEDS to be done immediately so I don't forget a single detail! On Wednesday, I celebrated my 32nd birthday and boy did I celebrate in style thanks to my INCREDIBLE husband!! Reagan and I started the day by meeting up with friends for a short jog and then some playground fun. Then we headed to Old Navy in search of some summer attire for the Weasel. We popped over to Target to get a couple bins that I could store her fall/winter clothes in and then headed home. She was fast asleep and I put her straight into her crib around 11:45 (she had been asleep for 15 minutes at this point). Around 1:55, Jason surprised me by coming home early! He had a beautiful card and a gift in hand when he walked in the door. I told him that I wished he had called because I would have had him stop off for an onion. That's when my day got 1000xs better! He said, "Change of plans. You need to pack a bag for Reagan
