West Point Trip (Part 2)

Image
After a fun-filled day apple picking, we couldn't just let Sunday slip away, so we decided to go to Oktoberfest (across the street). Before we left, I was in love with Reagan's outfit, so I had a mini photo shoot with her. She's hilariously awesome and I love her.  Check these out. (Oh, and the hat is not hers, but she wanted to rock it anyway:) I should mention that I asked her to stand there and smile nicely. The posing was all on her own!

West Point Trip (Part 1)

Image
Last Thursday night, we loaded up the car and headed north (in the pouring rain) to see Adam and Lauren in West Point, NY. We left around 6:30 and after a very long trip, arrived in the middle of the night. Reagan was bright eyed and bushy tailed. We let her say hello and hang out for a bit, but it took us until 3:30 or 4am to get her to sleep...Savannah was a great traveller - she slept most of the ride, ate again when we arrived and went back to sleep.  As children are apt to do, both girls got up at their normal times...early. We had arrived so late, that we didn't even know how amazing the view from the house was: ...or how incredible the house was?! It was gorgeous! Lauren warned me (since we had Tommy with us), that there were lots of very friendly deer in the neighborhood. We were lucky enough to spot several! The Friday after we arrived, Jason went to campus with Adam to talk to two of his classes and the girls did a few errands an...

Doc McReagan

Uncle Geoffrey always gives Reagan (in her words) THE BEST GIFTS EVER! For her most recent birthday, he gave her a Doc McStuffins' kit. Thank goodness she now has a new patient, because I have had approximately 1000 checkups since July:)

Savannah's Impromptu Photo Session! (and a little bit of reality)

Image
In this blog, I've recounted so many wonderful times/events/etc with our little family. Those are all real moments. But what I leave out is the crazy... In an effort to be more realistic, let's recall this gem from a couple weeks ago: Reagan, Savannah and I were in Quantico at a birthday party one Friday afternoon. All was going well until shortly after eating, Savannah had a movement so forceful that liquid poo actually exploded out of her diaper, immediately through her onesie, and directly onto my outfit. Of course I had a change of clothes for her; me, not so much. No worries, I just rocked my nursing tank top and a jacket. We continued to enjoy the party. On the way home, it was nearing dinner time, and too lazy and tired to figure out something to cook, I swung into the McD's drive thru. In the eyes of a 3-year old, this made me the best mom ever!  As soon as we got home, I sat Reagan down with her chicken nugget Happy Meal and placed her sister, still as...

Shedkicker's Cider Festival

Image
Jason's co-worker, Michael Seeds, invited us out to Flint Hill (near Front Royal, VA) for an apple cider festival and some great live music. We jumped at the opportunity, loaded up the kiddos and the dog and headed west. The directions to get to this place included "there are two one lane bridges and one two lane bridge," but what they didn't tell us, was that the driveway to get up to the barn where the event was taking place was a one mile stretch of two gravel paths (one for each tire:)! It was quite the adventure! But we arrived safely for a warm, sunny afternoon in the country. There was no shortage of volunteers to hold Savannah:) Drinking some freshly pressed apple cider! Taking a turn on the press! The fabulous hosts of the event! How beautiful are they?! Jason's co-worker, Michael

Tiny Dancer

Image
Before Reagan's dance class the other night, she just looked so darn cute, I had to do a mini photo session:) Plus, it was "Parents Get to Watch" day (usually we watch on a TV in a separate room...this time we got to go into the class!). Here are some shots of our tiny dancer... This shot was made perfect by the Crocs on the wrong feet:) Sweet moment caught by mommy!
