Happy to Have Jessica Here!

Image
Jessica finally moved to VA in June!!! We are so happy that she will be close by for a couple years (at least). The week she arrived, we got to spend a lot of time hanging out because none of her stuff arrived from the moving company! That left plenty of time to teach Reagan how to wash the cars... Savannah just got to watch:) Even put her to work washing my van! These two are happy to have Jessica here!!!

A Trip to Burke Lake Park

Image
On the first of June, we met Papa at Burke Lake Park to play for a couple hours. They have multiple playgrounds, a great trail, a merry-go-round, and a train that runs through the park! Unfortunately, the day we went, the train was down for maintenance:( No worries though, we made the most of it and had a wonderful time!  I love this face! Sisters! Such a good Papa! We had snacks, but Savannah was far more interested in the ice from the cooler. After a short walk down to see the boats, we hit up the merry-go-round one last time...and this time, Reagan went all by herself!! Such a big girl!

Cuteness!

Reagan's Preschool Graduation!

Image
This happened in May. Guess we got a bit behind!  Reagan finished her first year of preschool in the 3-4 year old class. Her teacher was Mrs. Brenda, and Miss Alexis was the assistant. Reagan loved her class. For the first 3 1/2 months, she went 3 days/week. From January to May, she went on Mondays & Fridays because of my work schedule.  This was Reagan's first real sense of stability in a school setting. Even though she spent last year at "school," the teachers rotated and you never knew which children would be there. She had a difficult time with the rules at the beginning - apparently hourly care at the CDC can be a free-for-all! - but got lots of good reports as the year progressed.  - Her class was mostly girls with just a handful of boys.  - Her favorite things to do were art projects and snack time.  - Her favorite playground activity was the swings. - She really enjoyed playing with Cassie, Kelsey & Ethan. Ethan is ...

We Don't Always Watch "Shows"

Image
Before Reagan was born, I was one of those super optimistic moms-to-be. My baby will NOT eat fast food. My kid will NOT watch TV. Yeah, right. Don't get me wrong, we do a good job of interacting with the girls, playing outside, learning and doing projects, but to be perfectly honest, we definitely let Mickey (or Sofia, or Jake, or Henry Hugglemonster, or basically any other Disney Jr. character) fulfill the role of teacher/babysitter.  Each morning, Reagan quietly walks over to our room, knocks on the door, climbs into our bed, and whispers, "Mommy, can I watch shows?" "Shows" is anything on channel 260 at our house. 9 out of 10 times, we will watch 5 minutes of news and then switch to her channel so I can get ready. But somedays...when Savannah is still sleeping...we skip the "shows" and spend some quality time at the kitchen table. And those are some of my favorite times...

But only if you're this flexible... I love this shot. Cute little toes, chubby fingers, and beautiful eyes!

Weasel Style

I really should start doing this once a week. It could be my "wordless Wednesday" post. She's definitely got a style all her own:)  Colleen, tell your mom that Reagan probably wore this purse for 2 months straight! And that smile...
