Freezing Berries

Do you ever wish you could enjoy fresh berries all year long? Well you can! Take advantage of summer sales when berries are selling 2 for the price of one, or go pick you own berries and load up. Then follow these simple steps: Step 1: Wash berries Step 2: Hull berries (not necessary for blueberries or raspberries) and cut larger ones in half Step 3: Spread berries out on a cookie sheet where they are not touching. (I used a dish towel for blueberries and raspberries, but it wasn't necessary, just made the cleanup easier.) Step 4: Place tray in freezer for 3-4 hours. Step 5: Label freezer bags and place berries inside. They are good for smoothies, desserts, etc for up to 6 months! On a different note, I also pruned my rosemary bush (it was taking over the garden) recently. Here is a picture of all the cuttings: I washed the branches and then left them in the sun to dry out.
