Outdoor Fun

Image
After we finished dying the eggs, Reagan and I went outside to help Daddy with the mulch. The Easter Bunny brought Reagan an early present from her basket... Then, after all her hard work, Reagan relaxed in her favorite tree!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail...

The Saturday before Easter was a spectacular one. Jason enlisted the help of Gary Michael and John Stotz to move three loads of mulch to our front yard (thanks guys!) and the flower beds are finally starting to look decent. Reagan wandered out in her pajamas, vest, and cowboy boots to help the boys. Unfortunately, she wasn't quite aware of her surroundings and managed to get a little mulch in the face:) She helped a little while longer and then we went inside to dye some Easter eggs!  We kept it to 11 eggs, and that seemed to be the perfect amount. Reagan had a great time dipping them in the different colors and after they dried, we decorated them with stickers and "hair" to look like monsters! Next year, she can probably do them all be herself!

Birthday Week Comes to an End

Image
In the Goodale Family, we celebrate BIRTHDAY WEEK! To culminate the great celebration, Jason and I headed down to Woodbridge for dinner and presents with Mil & Fil & Reagan. We truly enjoyed our weekend "off" from being parents, but we sure missed our girl!  Cindi made some incredible appetizers: stuffed mushrooms, potato skins, and (my personal favorite with a twist) deviled eggs topped with bacon! As always, everything was delicious.  We sat down to dinner: beef burgundy with rice and amazing cheese biscuits! It was exactly what I requested:) I definitely have the best Mil ever!  Reagan helped Grandma get the cake ready. It was a cake I picked out months ago and absolutely couldn't wait to taste...S'MORES CAKE!! And Mil will definitely tell you it was a painful exercise, but I thought it was totally worth it!  The main issue was stability (see above:). But the taste was everything I hoped and dreamed! And Reagan l...

DC Beer Fest

Image
On Saturday, March 23rd, Reagan was spending the weekend in Woodbridge with her grandparents, and Jason and I headed to National's Stadium in Southeast DC for the DC Beer Fest. I bought tickets for him as a Valentine's gift, and he asked me to go with him...how sweet! We worked around the house all morning (him mulching the flowerbeds and me inside) and needed a snack. I made a huge fruit salad that we took with us and a dish of veggies (thinking it would be best if we at least got something healthy into our bodies:). We arrived about 30 minutes before the start time and after a little trouble, found some easy parking right there at the stadium. I had my new camera (Canon 60d) in tow, and had a great time snapping away. While we waited for the beer lines to open, we got a snack. Mine was chili cheese tots, and Jason got nachos. Thank goodness for those veggies & fruits, right?!  Each of us received a cup that we were supposed to take around to th...

Operation: Keep Tommy Safe

Image
Since moving into our Alexandria rental house, we have been very happy with it. We have great landlords, a good location, and plenty of space. The one thing that we were unhappy with were the stairs: Without fail, Tommy managed to fall down the stairs (there are two separate flights) no less than once a day. While he never limped a way, it was only a matter of time before something bad actually happened, so Jason and Gary Mike headed to Home Depot to create a solution to the problem. Reagan and I had been out running our own errand, and when we got back, this is what we saw: Happy girl! (That's a pancake in her hand:) After finishing the bottom flight, they turned to on the other set of stairs...awkward work, eh?! And the end result? I think the stairs look so much better now. They picked a beautiful rug that won't show every single one of Tommy's hairs that fall out (which is a LOT), and they did a great job installing it.  I'm not ent...
