A Wonderful Baby Shower!


On Saturday, May 15th, Amanda & Barbara Turner hosted a baby shower for me!  From the little baby shoes made from styrofoam cups decorated with pink bows to the incredible meal for lunch, everything was fantastic.  Guests began arriving around 11:30 and were invited to mingle & enjoy some cheese (to include baked brie!) and crackers, veggies and dip, and other treats.  Then a bit later, when everyone had arrived, we sat down for a delicious lunch of chicken/rice casserole, Ceasar salad, the most incredible fruit salad, and fresh rolls.  Everything tasted so good...and trust me, I should know since I went back for seconds!  There were plenty of tables for everyone to sit - some inside and others were outside enjoying the beautiful weather we were blessed with.  After lunch, Amanda handed out blank Bingo cards to everyone.  They were instructed to fill in each space with an item that could possibly be received at a baby shower.  Next, as I opened the gifts (of which there were MANY), each person marked off the particular item if it was listed on their Bingo card.  What a fun game!  Everyone was so generous, and I'm quite certain that we'll have to change our baby girl's clothes approximately 4 times a day to ensure she wears all of her new clothes!  Oh, and after presents, came my favorite part:  CAKE!  It was a yummy chocolate cake with chocolate frosting!


As you can see from the pictures above, everything was beautiful & we had a fabulous time.  Thanks to everyone who was able to come!  We will undoubtedly get much use out of all the gifts and it was wonderful to see you all. 

And a special thank you to Barbara & Amanda!  You really made the shower such a memorable event, and I cannot wait until our little girl is here to meet you.

    Aww so cute!!! Can't wait to get back there - I'll be coming in right when the little one is born (I think) :)

NC Girls' Weekend

Since Jason is out of town, we decided to schedule an impromptu girls weekend visit in North Carolina. It was great to see Lynsey & Colleen and their families. Jessica, the girls and I drove down Friday night and got to Lynsey's just before midnight. We didn't do much, but hang around the house and play outside on the first day. It was relaxing and fun. Brian was awesome and played with the kids while Jess, Lynsey & I did a workout in their amazing home gym. Colleen came up with the boys around lunch time on Saturday. All the kids fawned over Miles, or as they have names him, Baby My My. I think Savannah really enjoyed not being the youngest for a few days. Saturday night, we ordered pizza, ate way too much, and Grammy Betty came over. We haven't seen her in a long time and it was wonderful to chat with her again.  The next day, we woke up to some snow! Bath Time Fun

Typically, after Jason gets home and eats dinner, he is on bath duty. It gives me 10 minutes to clean the kitchen, set up his coffee and make his lunch for the following day. One day last week though, everything was already done, so I snuck in to watch the fun. We recently got some Mr. Bubbles for Reagan and she LOVED them. She's such a cheeseball!

Bath Time: PAHM Style

I've mentioned it before, but I will say it again: I love Play At Home Mom !!! This site is the best for ideas to interact with, engage, and teach your children. Reagan takes a bath almost every night. She has the typical assortment of toys (rubber boats, cups, a turtle, etc) to entertain her, but lately, she just leaves them in the bag. I decided to introduce some new things during bath time and they were a huge hit! Here are some pictures from our "adventures in bath fun." First up: BUBBLES ! It's a bit too cold to just hang out in the yard blowing bubbles, so I decided that bath time would be the perfect opportunity for a mess free bubble party! I LOVE this shot.  Secondly, (and straight from PAHM), I added: WATER BALLOONS !!! She absolutely loved when I poked a small hole in them and they became "water fountains!"
