And We're Back!

On Friday, July 23rd at 7:58pm, we welcomed Reagan Campbell Goodale into the world!  (Hence the longer than usual hiatus from the blog update.)  She was 10lbs 1 oz and measured 23.25 inches...just shy of most babies in the 5-6 month range:)  In the nursery, they referred to her as "the toddler." 


Right now I'm blessed to have my in-laws staying with me to help out (a.k.a. "do everything") for me.  They are wonderful to me - preparing meals, reminding me to do things here and there that I would undoubtedly have forgotten, and cleaning the house to name a few.  And they are even better with  Reagan - especially Geoffrey!  I'll do a separate post about him, but let me just say for the record, that I can't imagine anyone being a better uncle.  He's been great!


Here's a picture of her big brother Tommy welcoming her home.  Ok, not exactly welcoming since it took well over 24 hours for him to get over his fear of approaching her, but I'll take what I can get.  He's been extremely sweet with her and runs to find out what's up whenever she cries. 

That's it for now, no promises on when the next post will be.  Lots of adjusting here at casa Goodale:)  But eventually, I'll get back to it. 

Oh, and Jason will be home soon!!!

NC Girls' Weekend

Since Jason is out of town, we decided to schedule an impromptu girls weekend visit in North Carolina. It was great to see Lynsey & Colleen and their families. Jessica, the girls and I drove down Friday night and got to Lynsey's just before midnight. We didn't do much, but hang around the house and play outside on the first day. It was relaxing and fun. Brian was awesome and played with the kids while Jess, Lynsey & I did a workout in their amazing home gym. Colleen came up with the boys around lunch time on Saturday. All the kids fawned over Miles, or as they have names him, Baby My My. I think Savannah really enjoyed not being the youngest for a few days. Saturday night, we ordered pizza, ate way too much, and Grammy Betty came over. We haven't seen her in a long time and it was wonderful to chat with her again.  The next day, we woke up to some snow! Bath Time Fun

Typically, after Jason gets home and eats dinner, he is on bath duty. It gives me 10 minutes to clean the kitchen, set up his coffee and make his lunch for the following day. One day last week though, everything was already done, so I snuck in to watch the fun. We recently got some Mr. Bubbles for Reagan and she LOVED them. She's such a cheeseball!

Bath Time: PAHM Style

I've mentioned it before, but I will say it again: I love Play At Home Mom !!! This site is the best for ideas to interact with, engage, and teach your children. Reagan takes a bath almost every night. She has the typical assortment of toys (rubber boats, cups, a turtle, etc) to entertain her, but lately, she just leaves them in the bag. I decided to introduce some new things during bath time and they were a huge hit! Here are some pictures from our "adventures in bath fun." First up: BUBBLES ! It's a bit too cold to just hang out in the yard blowing bubbles, so I decided that bath time would be the perfect opportunity for a mess free bubble party! I LOVE this shot.  Secondly, (and straight from PAHM), I added: WATER BALLOONS !!! She absolutely loved when I poked a small hole in them and they became "water fountains!"
