1st Grade Field Trip - Carlsbad Flower Fields
At the end of March, I had the opportunity to go to the Carlsbad Flower Fields with Reagan's 1st grade class! Reagan loves any opportunity to ride a bus since she has to ride to school with me this year:) (California doesn't offer school buses like Virginia did!)
It was a beautiful day with plenty of sunshine and happy children. The tour guide walked the students through a number of stations where they learned about the particular flowers (the ranunculus), composting, and more. They got to plan their own sunflower seeds to take home and made 3D flower pictures! It was so nice to see Reagan among her peers. She has one friend, Christopher, who has some developmental delays. Reagan is so sweet with him, always making sure to hold his hand, or include him. That makes my heart happy.

Before lunch, we got to take a wagon ride through the flower fields. We sang, learned more about the flowers, and had a great time! After lunch, I went back to work, but they got to go through the sweet pea maze, according to Reagan, the highlight of the trip! Such a fun event!
