HE'S HOME!!!


Yesterday at 3:45, the Marines from Charlie Company, 1/9 returned from a 7-month deployment.  Among those welcoming home their loved ones were a fiance (engaged just 2 months before the deployment started), an expectant mother (due in 5 weeks), and numerous parents & siblings.  Most importantly to our family...yesterday was the day Jason met Reagan!  Just one day shy of being 3 weeks old, Reagan donned her "I Love Daddy" outfit and braved the sun and heat to meet her father.  It was quite possibly the most amazing moment of my life to date. 

I'm not usually one for tears, but this was one of those moments...


Of course we can't forget our other "baby."



It was a wonderful homecoming, with an extra surprise for Jason...his dad and brother, Geoffrey, came back down to NC for the big event.  It's something I'm sure we'll remember forever.  Couldn't have asked for a better day!

I truly couldn't be happier.

    Okay, you know I don't cry. But these pictures brought tears to my eyes. I'm so happy for you guys and I know it is wonderful having J finally home. He is going to be a wonderful dad to Reagan and he already is to big T-man! Love you all.

    Thoose two pictures are so sweet! I heard about the face touching picture from my dad! Reagan is the cutest baby ever! I cant wait to meet her!

NC Girls' Weekend

Since Jason is out of town, we decided to schedule an impromptu girls weekend visit in North Carolina. It was great to see Lynsey & Colleen and their families. Jessica, the girls and I drove down Friday night and got to Lynsey's just before midnight. We didn't do much, but hang around the house and play outside on the first day. It was relaxing and fun. Brian was awesome and played with the kids while Jess, Lynsey & I did a workout in their amazing home gym. Colleen came up with the boys around lunch time on Saturday. All the kids fawned over Miles, or as they have names him, Baby My My. I think Savannah really enjoyed not being the youngest for a few days. Saturday night, we ordered pizza, ate way too much, and Grammy Betty came over. We haven't seen her in a long time and it was wonderful to chat with her again.  The next day, we woke up to some snow! Bath Time Fun

Typically, after Jason gets home and eats dinner, he is on bath duty. It gives me 10 minutes to clean the kitchen, set up his coffee and make his lunch for the following day. One day last week though, everything was already done, so I snuck in to watch the fun. We recently got some Mr. Bubbles for Reagan and she LOVED them. She's such a cheeseball!

Bath Time: PAHM Style

I've mentioned it before, but I will say it again: I love Play At Home Mom !!! This site is the best for ideas to interact with, engage, and teach your children. Reagan takes a bath almost every night. She has the typical assortment of toys (rubber boats, cups, a turtle, etc) to entertain her, but lately, she just leaves them in the bag. I decided to introduce some new things during bath time and they were a huge hit! Here are some pictures from our "adventures in bath fun." First up: BUBBLES ! It's a bit too cold to just hang out in the yard blowing bubbles, so I decided that bath time would be the perfect opportunity for a mess free bubble party! I LOVE this shot.  Secondly, (and straight from PAHM), I added: WATER BALLOONS !!! She absolutely loved when I poked a small hole in them and they became "water fountains!"
