A Great Saturday

On Saturday morning, I woke up and checked Instagram (yes, I check it before I look at the news). Lynsey had already posted the cutest pictures of some things she was doing to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday! That definitely inspired Jason who took Reagan downstairs and started getting to work on breakfast: GREEN EGGS & HAM Duck/Pork Sausage!



Reagan has gotten quite good at making scrambled eggs and adamantly protests, "I no need help. I do it all by myself!" 


We had some errands to do after breakfast, so we all climbed in the Rodeo and headed into Old Town Alexandria. First stop, dry cleaning. That was a quick one. Next on the list, Farmer's Market. Sadly, finding parking was crazy and once we did and wandered up to the city square, there was no market:(  But, in it's place was a dog show and a St. Patrick's Day Parade (a bit early)!





This dog looks less than thrilled about having to wear this hat.

There was also a car show:


In our efforts to beat feet before the parade actually kicked off and we were stuck on the wrong side of King's Street, we headed back to the car after just 30 minutes. On our way to the garage, we ran into these two gorgeous Irish Wolf Hounds!! They were massive!!!


So the green eggs were either to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday or to kick off St. Patty's Day early. Either way, it was a good start to our weekend!

NC Girls' Weekend

Since Jason is out of town, we decided to schedule an impromptu girls weekend visit in North Carolina. It was great to see Lynsey & Colleen and their families. Jessica, the girls and I drove down Friday night and got to Lynsey's just before midnight. We didn't do much, but hang around the house and play outside on the first day. It was relaxing and fun. Brian was awesome and played with the kids while Jess, Lynsey & I did a workout in their amazing home gym. Colleen came up with the boys around lunch time on Saturday. All the kids fawned over Miles, or as they have names him, Baby My My. I think Savannah really enjoyed not being the youngest for a few days. Saturday night, we ordered pizza, ate way too much, and Grammy Betty came over. We haven't seen her in a long time and it was wonderful to chat with her again.  The next day, we woke up to some snow! Bath Time Fun

Typically, after Jason gets home and eats dinner, he is on bath duty. It gives me 10 minutes to clean the kitchen, set up his coffee and make his lunch for the following day. One day last week though, everything was already done, so I snuck in to watch the fun. We recently got some Mr. Bubbles for Reagan and she LOVED them. She's such a cheeseball!

Bath Time: PAHM Style

I've mentioned it before, but I will say it again: I love Play At Home Mom !!! This site is the best for ideas to interact with, engage, and teach your children. Reagan takes a bath almost every night. She has the typical assortment of toys (rubber boats, cups, a turtle, etc) to entertain her, but lately, she just leaves them in the bag. I decided to introduce some new things during bath time and they were a huge hit! Here are some pictures from our "adventures in bath fun." First up: BUBBLES ! It's a bit too cold to just hang out in the yard blowing bubbles, so I decided that bath time would be the perfect opportunity for a mess free bubble party! I LOVE this shot.  Secondly, (and straight from PAHM), I added: WATER BALLOONS !!! She absolutely loved when I poked a small hole in them and they became "water fountains!"
