Last and Final Tale #7 of the Traveling Gypsies

On Wednesday morning, after a lovely stay with Lynsey & Brian, we got into the car once again and drove the short distance to Raleigh to see Colleen, Keith & Max.  Jessica & Sean have been raving about Souplantation, so we stopped there for lunch.  It lived up to the hype and I ate way too much!  After that, we arrived at Colleen & Keith's house.  They were both still at work and Max was at "school," so we decided to take a trip to their neighborhood pool.  After a brief swim, I suggested that we do a crossfit workout that included swimming, so we did!  It was 5 pushups, 20 air squats, and a 30m swim across the pool (repeat 5 times).    When we finished, Jessica and Sean decided it wasn't enough of a workout, so we added 5 minutes of constant handstands (against a wall) or flutter kicks...no breaks!  Jessica and I went first while Sean watched Reagan and kept time.  I haven't done handstands in years, so I was complaining that I thought my eyes were going to bust out of my head, but I finished it nonetheless.  Then, Reagan and I hopped back in the pool while Sean finished his workout.  Once they were finished and we started to pack up, Jessica said, "Hey, what's that red mark under your eye?"  I had no idea what she was referring to, but after a brief assessment, we both decided it was a burst blood vessel...so I was right, my eyes WERE trying to POP out of my head!

The crazy things we do for fitness!

We headed back to the house where we met Keith, Colleen & Max.  We all relaxed while Jessica made dinner: spaghetti w/ Italian sausage, a huge salad, Italian bread, and a delicious batch of roasted vegetables.  Once dinner was over, we gave the babies a bath together:

Isn't he adorable?!

Pardon Reagan's hair...it's the effect of having to wear antenna because your hair is too long:)

We put the babies to bed and then Jessica, Colleen & I hung out and chatted like old times.  Sean and Keith stayed downstairs and watched an episode of Teen Moms:)  Reagan had a horrible night (probably because I fed her chicken sausage that was a bit too spicy), and we spent most of the night with her crying and me trying to calm her down.  But we woke up the next morning and said our quick goodbyes to the working parents who were busy getting Max ready for "school."  Always time for a picture, we got one before they headed out the door:

Colleen looking fabulous after just having a baby!  With Keith, Max, and Jessica

Thanks for welcoming us into your home Colleen & Keith!  We had a great time and it was so nice to catch up with you guys.  Hope to see you again soon!

After they left, we watched the Casey Anthony sentencing and packed the car.  I took Sean and Jessica to RDU waved goodbye, grateful to be heading home, but sad to see them go.  Thanks guys for including me in your whirlwind vacation.  We had a blast and can't wait to come see you in a much cooler California!

And there ends the tales of the traveling gypsies...at least until our next adventure:)

  2. Thanks for doing all these blog posts Jen! Looks like I'm off the hook for documenting our travels. It was so wonderful to see everyone and I miss Reagan like crazy already. Hard to believe how fast she's growing. Thanks for providing the gypsy-mobile!
